Rhonda Dianne Reat

Rhonda Dianne Reat (55) of Deer Park, Texas went to be with our Lord on December 13, 2013. Dianne was born on September 22, 1958 in Houston, Texas to William Gaylon and Ruthie Lee Hinton. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Mark; daughters, Rachel and Katie; brothers, Michael Hinton and wife, Renee; Rick Hinton and wife, Tammie; and Jim Hinton; nieces and nephews, Johanna Guettler and husband, Blake; Valerie Waugh and husband, Kenny; Matthew Hinton; Amy Hayes; Jocelynn Carroll and husband, Michael; Chelsea Hoyt and husband, Jeremy; Amanda Reat; and Ben Hinton and wife, Katrice; and four great-nephews and one great-niece. Dianne grew up in Pasadena, graduated from Pasadena High School in 1977, and attended San Jacinto College. Dianne was employed by Southwestern Bell / AT&T for 27 years. She was currently employed by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as a Detention Officer. She truly loved her second career and honestly felt God put her there to minister to the inmates. Dianne also loved watching football, especially the Deer Park Deer and the Texas A&M Aggies. Even though she did not have a son playing on the field, she was Deer Park’s #1 Fan and very rarely missed a game for many years. Dianne was truly a loving, giving, and caring daughter, wife, and mother. She loved her God, family, job, and friends and always put others before herself. She loved the book “When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple”, but she didn’t wait until she got old because she had always loved the color purple. Dianne was loved by so many and will be truly missed by her family, friends, and all whose life she touched. We know she is now in the Arms of God and asking Him “What can I do to help?” A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at South Main Baptist Church, 4300 E. Sam Houston Parkway, Pasadena, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to South Main Baptist Church.
