Shawna Marie Stringer

On Sunday September 16th a wonderful, kind, funny, talented, and beautiful woman passed away. She had a great passion for so many things; such as books, zombies, sharks, Disney movies, and her eclectic taste in music, ranging from musicals to Metallica. She loved what she did with her bookselling and crafting work and her hobbies. But most importantly, she loved her family. Not only her immediate family, which she loved very much, but also her extended family and friends she made through her job and interests. Shawna positively affected the lives of so many people through her work. She took great joy in working with the authors she met over the years, but especially having the chance to work with so many of these authors to help promote their craft. She cherished the fact that she got to meet so many of them at conventions and book signings. In addition, she was a prolific Crafter. She loved to create many things for other people, with a talent for large dream catchers customized to the themes she knew they would love, no matter the subject; whether it be gory, weird or adorable. She especially had an exceptional love for her Dachshund fur babies, due to sharing a lifelong passion for the breed with her husband. Shawna is survived by her husband Scott, her parents Quentin and Donna Magness, her sister Amy Magness, her grandmother Ruth Moore, and by her Aunts, Uncle, and cousins. There will be a memorial service on Sunday September 23rd at 3:00pm at Deer Park Funeral Directors. Immediately following the service, we invite everyone to join us at Ernie’s, 1860 E Sam Houston Parkway, Pasadena, TX 77503 for a celebration of life. We request you bring your thoughts, prayers and fondest memories of Shawna.
