Alyssa Carmen Nance, 19, entered eternal peace on Sunday November 16, leaving behind a legacy of love, light, and joy that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her. Born with a radiant smile and a spirit that shimmered in every room she entered. Alyssa was a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, cousin, great-granddaughter, and friend whose presence made the world feel golden.
Alyssa was the beloved daughter of Damian and Stephanie Nance, and the cherished sister of Elizabeth, Kaylee, Natalie, Michael, and Charlotte. She is survived by her parents & siblings; her nephew and niece Robert and Davianna Franklin; her grandparents Joe and Denise Briseno; her loving aunts and uncles Jennifer and John Suarez, Jessica Castillo, and Joseph and Taylor Briseno; her 18 great-aunts and great-uncles; her 26 cousins who adored her & laughed endlessly with her; and her great-grandparents, Javier & Albina Briseno and Dolores Castro. She was preceded in death by her great-great-grandparents Abelardo & Catarina Sanchez and Fred & Leonor Yates, and her great-grandfathers Leon Bryan and Alberto Castro.
Alyssa was filled with a beautiful energy that made her unforgettable—always smiling, always shining, always pouring kindness into the world. She loved the music and magic that colored her life: Taylor Swift, Hamilton, and everything Disney. With her kindness, grace, and gentle spirit, she truly lived like someone who knew how to “stay soft,” a real-life Disney princess whose heart was full of wonder.
She was a proud Deer Park High School graduate, Class of 2024, where she volunteered with PALs. She grew her passion for helping others by studying psychology at San Jacinto College and working in child care at Grace Church. She dreamt of making a positive impact on people’s lives—a dream she already fulfilled, simply by being herself.
Though her time here was far too short, Alyssa’s love, laughter, smile, and light remain woven into the lives of all who loved her. As we hold her memory close, we are reminded that some souls leave a mark so deep and so bright, it’s as if an invisible string were tying us to them forever.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Alyssa.
