Celebrating the Life and Love of Amy Ruth Bowles
It is with the heaviest heart to announce that Amy Ruth Bowles, 50, of Highlands,
Texas departed this life on Monday, November 20th, 2023, at her home, peacefully
in her sleep. She was born July 9th, 1973, in Pasadena Texas to Richard Michael Sr.
and Shirley Jean Zarnow Bowles.
Growing up, Amy was well liked and did exceptional in school. She is an alumni
of Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena, Texas. After high school, she later went
on to attend San Jacinto Jr College. In her adulthood, her career was focused in
construction and design, helping on building projects for numerous stores and
facilities in the Houston area. In 2002, she had her one and only child, Lily
Bowles. In 2016, she moved to the Highlands area.
At the time of her passing, she was a loved member of the community. She worked
at Backdraft Bar-Be-Que, a local and popular casual restaurant, where she was like
family to her fellow coworkers and friends. She enjoyed the simple things in life,
such as getting a manicure, catching up on her favorite television series, and
spending time with her loved ones.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Richard B. and Mattie
Mae Bowles, Fred and Ruth Zarnow, and her ex-partner, Eric Robinson, who is the
father of her daughter, Lily Ruth Bowles.
She is survived by her daughter, Lily Ruth Bowles of Pasadena, her brother Rick
Bowles of Dickinson, Texas, five first cousins, as well as numerous other relatives
and friends. Amy’s cherished memory will live on through everyone that had the
blessing of knowing her and her love and friendship to anyone. 

Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, December 16, 2023 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors.
