Arthur A. Duck

Arthur A. Duck of Houston TX, passed peacefully into the arms of his savior Jesus Christ the afternoon of July 7th, 2026 at the age of 92.  Arthur was born November of 1933 in Evergreen, Alabama to James Field and Ophelia (Hammond) Duck who raised eight children.  Arthur married and raised four children with Ella Marie Watson Duck who preceded him in death in 1984 enjoying 30 years of marriage together.  Arthur then met the second love of his life, Martha Ann Hudson Duck. Arthur and Martha were married 35 years until her passing in 2021. The Lord blessed Art with 92 years on this earth, he was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and two wives.

Arthur attended college in Arizona where he met and married his wife, Ella Marie. Arthur joined the Army in 1955 where he served his country honorably through 1963.  During his service he stationed in both the U.S. and Japan in supply logistics services, earning Expert Rifle and Good Conduct Medals.  Upon completing his service, he began a lifelong career in finance as a collection agent and working his way up to President of a bank. Reaching retirement, Arthur and Martha moved to Timpson Texas to enjoy retirement raising cows.  He and Martha ultimately moved back to Houston to be closer to the family he loved. 

Arthur knew, loved and served the Lord Jesus for decades, raising his children in the ways of the Lord.  He served Christ’s church in multiple capacities including Deacon, pastor search, Treasurer, Sunday school and bible studies.  He truly enjoyed worshiping Jesus while singing in his church choir.  He has been welcomed into the presence of the lord, He has finished his race, fought the good fight and persevered to the end.

Arthur is survived by his brother Shannon Duck, his son, Richard Duck and wife Maria Luisa, daughter Deborah Johnson and her husband Charles, daughter Lori Day and her husband Max, daughter Betty Ann Duck, son, Mike Day and his wife LaRee. He also enjoyed 7 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will celebrate Arthur’s life together at Providence Baptist Church, 3801 Preston Ave., on Tuesday July 14th with visitation beginning at 10:00am and service at 11:00am.  Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM the following day at Corinth Cemetery, 3763 FM1970 N. Timpson, TX.
