Camille Jordan Romans died peacefully at home in Houston, TX, on October 2, 2005. A native of Natchez, MS, she was born July 3, 1908 to Estelle Morgan and Charles Kirkendahl Jordan. In 1920 her family moved to New Roads, LA, where she lived until finishing Julian Poydras High School in 1925. Camille relocated to Baton Rouge to attend Draughn Business College and subsequently began her career, which included positions with Standard Oil, The Offshore company, and as a legal assistant to Judge Donovan W. Parker of the East Baton Rouge Criminal Courts. Camille was preceded in death by her husband of over 56 years, William A. Romans; Sister Ernestine Jordan Post of Baton Rouge; and Brother Charles Morgan Jordan of Houston, TX. She is survived by her son Dr. A. Robert Romans of Jacksonville,FL; Daughter and Son in law, Patricia R. and Dr. Thomas L. Rokoske of Boone, NC and second Daughter and Son in law, Tamara and Michael S. Stresau of Houston, TX. She is also survived by Two Sisters Estelle Jordan Brousseau and Virgina Jordan Robert and Brother Janis R. Jordan, all of Baton Rouge. Camille was the grandmother of Nine and the Great Grandmother of Nine, in addition to having many Nieces and Nephews. Camille was proud and active member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church until her mone to Houston in 1955. She remained in contact with many of her friends and business associates in Baton Rouge Throughout her life. A Memorial Service will be held in BatonRouge, on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 9:30 AM, at Our Lady of Mercy Catolic Church.
