Carl Theron Terry Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our cherished father, Carl Theron Terry, who left this world just five days after his 92nd birthday peacefully in his sleep to be with our Lord.  Carl was born on February 12, 1933, to Robert Joe and Madeline Terry in Hallsville, Texas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and wife.

Carl is deeply mourned by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carl is survived by his daughter, Leslie (son-in-law Rick), daughter Wendolyn, and his sons, Chris (daughter-in-law Denise), Kevyn (daughter-in-law Suzanne), and Paulo.  He was a proud grandfather to Thirteen grandchildren: Ricky (wife Mecca), Jessica (spouse David), Lorna (spouse Robert), Kristy (spouse Bryan), Joseph (wife Katie), Jacob, Nicholas, Samantha (spouse Keira), Alex, Monique (spouse Roy), Desmond, Meadow, and Mason.  Thirteen great-grandchildren: Alexis, Joseph, Jackson, Dean, Vanna, Oliver, Jameson, Cooper, Patrick, Sydney, Roy, Jeremiah, and Janiyah.

Carl graduated from LaPorte High School and University of Houston.  He served in the US Navy from 1953-1957.  Carl was a businessman with a number of businesses including Air Conditioning and Heating, Restaurants, and Entertainment Venues. Carl was a vocational instructor at the University of Houston. Carl was very intelligent, extremely driven, determined, and dedicated. These traits are visible in his children. He had a knack and an extremely high interest in the law.  Anyone that knew Carl knew of his love for music, especially country and Merle Haggard, traveling, and gardening.

Carl had a huge heart and a friend to all. He was extremely generous with his time, knowledge, and resources to those in need.  Carl was active in helping others, especially other veterans.  He received several awards and was recognized by area newspapers more than once for assisting veterans. Carl rediscovered God in his later years and was a regular at church services.

At the age of 92 he outlived many of his friends and family.  Gladly he will honored and fondly remembered by the loved ones who remain behind to share his stories with the next generations and continue his legacy.
