Carol Ann Green, 72, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, in Deer Park, TX. She was born on March 16, 1951, in Pasadena, TX to the late Nana Lou and Thomas Morgan. As a child of a pipeline engineer, her early years included living abroad in locations such as Amsterdam and Panama before returning to Pasadena where much of her life was spent.
Carol met her husband, Larry Green, as they began dating during their sophomore year of high school and, shortly after graduating, they married on January 9, 1971. They share an epic love story for just shy of 58 years and together they shared 2 children, a loving son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren which she loved beyond measure. Carol was such a loving and caring wife and mother through all life’s challenges. She always made everyone feel part of her loving family.
She was a proud graduate of the University of Houston and was known as Mrs. Green to many with a career spanning five decades teaching first and second grade at Easthaven Baptist School in South Houston and Harlem Elementary in Baytown, TX. After retirement, she returned to do what she loved, helping children learn to read as she tutored part-time at Heritage Elementary in Deer Park.
Carol enjoyed gathering with her family, friends, and was the support system for all those in need. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, chatting or visiting with her lifelong friend Dianna, and she loved to watch the Astros win. She had a passion for travel, especially if a beach was involved. She rarely went more than a month before working to plan her next vacation for the family. We celebrate, now, knowing that she and her sister Kathy have rejoined for eternity as they enjoy their walks on the beaches of Heaven together again. We all rejoice in her new life in Christ, yet we mourn because of the void in ours.
She is survived by her husband, Larry E. Green, brother, Tommy Morgan Jr. and wife Betty, daughter, Amy Cole and husband Shannon, son Larry M. Green, grandchildren, Ashton and Ashlee Cole, sister-in law, Tammy Ford and husband Roger, sister-in law, Marsha Cutlip, brother-in-law, Guy Green, and a host of loving extended family members, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Denton and both parents.
All are welcome to say farewell until we meet again at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 29th in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E. San Augustine, Deer Park, TX.
