Charles Edward Layton, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on March 11, 1968, Charley lived a life full of laughter, music, and joy. He never met a stranger... his love for meeting new people and making others feel welcome left a lasting impression wherever he went. His infectious laugh, quick wit, and playful habit of speaking in made-up accents could light up any room and bring smiles to those around him.
Charley had a deep love for music, a passion that followed him throughout his life. He also enjoyed golf and was known for being a great dancer, often the first one on the dance floor, setting the tone for fun and laughter.
He is survived by his former wife, Kimberly Graham Layton; his daughter, Lindsay Provost, and her husband, Blake Provost; his son, Trey Layton, and Trey’s fiancée, Morgan Rogers; and his grandchildren, Bryce and Emmy Provost. Charles also leaves behind his parents, Edward Layton, and Carolyn and Ben Mayer; and his sisters, Terri Patton and Eva Lux, along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Charles will be remembered for his big heart, his humor, and the way he made every moment brighter. His memory will live on through the laughter he inspired and the love he shared.
