Charles Joseph Semmes of Deer Park, Texas passed away at home on June 19, 2026, in Deer Park Texas. He was born in Jennings, Louisiana on August 23, 1952. Charles will be greatly missed by his wife, two children, five grandchildren, five siblings, extended family and many more.
Charles loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. Charles had a very unique sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He was one of the most generous people, ready to help out anyone in need. Charles gave everything he could for others, no matter the circumstances.
Charles joined the Navy during the Vietnam war. During his service, Charles traveled through the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas to name a few. After the Navy, he attended Louisiana Tech University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He proudly spent his career working as a Mechanical Engineer. He had a strong work ethic and took joy in providing for his family.
Charles is survived by his wife, Sharon Semmes; son, Scott Semmes and wife Beverlea Semmes; daughter Kristen Litchfield and husband Chris Litchfield; grandchildren Madeleine Semmes, Noah Semmes, Geneveive Semmes, Mason Litchfield and Atlas Semmes. He also leaves behind his siblings, Elizabeth McJimsey, Debbie Love, Jeff Semmes, Mary Jenkins and Barbara Buckley. He was preceded in death by his Father, Roger Semmes, and his mother Ann Semmes.
Charles' Service will be held at Deer Park funeral Directors located at 336 E San Augustine St, Deer Park, TX 77536, on June 26, 2026. The visitation will begin at 2:00pm and the service will begin at 3:00pm.
