Claudine Spillios 75 0f Houston., TX passed away on Sept 14, 2009. Mrs. Spillios was born August 6, 1934 in Hartshorne, OK to Claude & Dorothy Bethune. Mrs. Spillios Life priorities were God, family and country this was shown by her works she did at First United Methodist Church Houston, the political honors she received and the unconditional love that she showed her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for most of her life. She helped with many charities and fundraisers including Hands Helping Houston. She was on the board that started both Wesley Academy and FUC Westchase. Mrs. Spillios was instilled at an early age with love of God, country and the protection of heritage, and an understanding of the Republican Party by her grandfather. She was active in the Republican Party at city, county, state and national levels. She received state and national recognition for her dedication. President Ronald Reagan acknowledged her effort, and expressed his appreciation of her leadership in the area of voter registration in the county. The Republican Womens Club named Claudine Fort Bend Woman of the year in 1985. She was also the Vice President of the Texas Federation of Republican Women and Elected President of the Fort Bend Womens Club. One of her highest honors was to be named as a delegate to the Republican National Convention. Claudine was also the proud co-founder and co-owner of Southwest Exterminating Co. since 1969. Mrs. Spillios believed that family should always come first. She loved her family unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her Son Steve Spillios. She is survived by Husband of 56 years Nick Spillios Sr.; Son Nick Spillios Jr.; Toni Spillios; Brother Bob Bethune; Eight grandchildren Nick Spillios III, Phillip Spillios, Mary Katherine Kelly, Emma Spillios, Heather Spillios, Holly Spillios, Andrew Spillios and Hannah Spillios; One Great Grandchild Teagan Kelly. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at First United Methodist Church Houston, 1320 Main. Interment Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Claudine Spillios had a life that was full of great accomplishments, and a deep love for the Lord, family and friends. She will be missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
