Cynthia Marie Johnson

Cynthia Marie Zellner Johnson went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 19, 2023, in Pearland, TX. She had battled Type 1 diabetes for the last 15 years. She was a resident of Pearland for the last 13 years.

Cynthia was born March 31, 1958, to Vernon and Mary Zellner in Pasadena, TX. She is Preceded in death by her father Vernon Zellner, Mother Mary Savant, Stepdad Floyd Savant. Husbands Glenn Roy Austin, Charles G. Golman, Willaim Luther Thornhill. Sister Linda Mae Arnold, Brother-in-law Willam Arnold, Sister Brenda Kay Bussell-Johnson, Brother-in-law Russell Bussel, and Brother Mike Zellner.

Cynthia was a very loving and compassionate caring mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. In her younger years she would take trips with her mom and dad to pick out Christmas trees for the season to sell. In her early 20’s she worked at Prudential Insurance, where she met Glenn Austin and his two children Christina and Kert. In 1982 they had Amanda. Cynthia and Glenn divorced about 8 years late but remained best of friends until the death of Glenn in 2018. In the early 90’s, Cynthia did craft shows with her mom and sister.  Cynthia and Charles were happily married in 1991 until his death in 1993. In 1995 Cynthia and William “Bill” married and they resided in Splendora, TX until 2003. Cynthia then moved to the Clear Lake area. In 2010 she moved to Pearland and Married her high school Sweetheart Gordon W. Johnson and the built their life in Pearland. Cynthia and Gordon loved to travel and go camping in the Texas State Parks. She Loved spending time with family and friends, bar-b-cueing, going to the movies, going on our girl’s trip before school started. For the last 8 years she has worked for University Green Townhome Owners Association, Inc. She loved talking to the residents and getting to know and becoming friends with a lot of them. She always knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face!

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 @ 11:30 @ Deer Park Funeral Directors 336 E. San Augustine St. Deer Park, TX 77536 Followed by a Graveside service 1:45 pm at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 5- 8 PM
