David Gilreath Obituary

David Farrell Gilreath went home to be with our Lord on June 29, 2026, after a difficult battle. David was born on June 26, 1953, in Galveston, Texas to Juanita Marie & Farrell Richard Gilreath.

David is preceded in death by his loving parents, sister Richa, and grandparents; James and Zeffie Gilreath and George and Bertha Holliday.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 39 years, Pamela; children, Stephen Sahr and wife Liz, Danielle Pickering and husband David, and Chase Gilreath, and wife Payten; grandchildren Devin Sahr, Sofia Sahr, Allie Pilkerton, Julie Pilkerton, Emma Pickering, Hannah Pickering, Paisley Pickering, Presley Pickering, Luke Pickering, August Gilreath and Parker Gilreath. David had a huge family circle that also consisted of aunts and uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

David worked and supported his family in the auto sales industry at various dealerships around the Houston area. He loved spending his evenings and weekends watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball. After his retirement, he became enthusiastic about lawncare where he took on several clients to pass his time during the days. He would pass on his advice about your lawn whether you wanted it or not. That was true with about everything. He was never one sitting around and doing nothing.

There will be a service at First Baptist Church of Pasadena, on Monday July 6, 2026. The visitation will begin at 12:00pm and the funeral service will begin at 1:00pm, followed by his interment at Grandview Cemetery. His pallbearers will be Chase Gilreath, Morgan Bates, Stephen Sahr, Mike Sexton, David Pickering, Dave Hannaman, Devin Sahr, Keith Bell, Luke Pickering, Bruce Clawson, August Gilreath, Craig LeBourgeois and Parker Gilreath.
