Dr. Frank I. Mangum, Jr., B.S, F.A.O.C.F.A.G.D.,M. Ed

Born March 5, 1931, in Greeneville, Tennessee.  Passed away December 13, 2024 . At the age of 93 in Deer Park, Texas.

He is Preceded in death by father Frank I Mangum Sr. and mother Juanita Emerson Mangum and sisters Marilyn Heilman and Gloria Berthelsen. 

Survived by wife Zaida Estes Mangum of thirty one years, daughter’s Tracy Mitchell Auld and Cynthia Cederhotm, Son Edward “Todd” Mitchell and wife Tammy “TJ”, grandchildren Jaden Auld, Taylor Guevara and husband Gustavo Guevara and great-grandchildren Jax and Luke Guevara, as well as his brother in law James A. Estes and wife Vicki, Sister in laws Julie Estes Suber and husband Bill, Jackie Estes Lytle and husband Richard Lytle. And numerous other relatives.

Dr. Mangum attended eight different Universities and taught in five of them.  He was in private practice from 1959 to 1998 with the last 15 years of that time in academics and research.  Dr. Mangum has Eighteen publications in medical and dental journals and has contributed to Five medical research books. He also has written Seven books in Christian research with over Fifty years of studies. Dr. Mangum served his country during the Korean War, in the U.S. Air Force.  He was member of The 32st Fighter Escort Wing” of “The Strategic Air Command”. 

Dr. Mangum last wishes are “I pray we will gather again in our heavenly home. God bless everyone of you, Your Christian friend, Frank”

Graveside services will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 1:15 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
