Joyce, born on September 1st, 1932, in Mabank, Texas, entered into a new life with her Lord and Savior on June 5th, 2025. Joyce was the beloved daughter of Verdie Pearl Blackwell and Clarence Lawrence Woolverton. She lived her life as a devoted Christian, Mother, and cherished Grandmother (MiMi). She was an Encourager to her children and all who met her. Joyce embraced her faith in God with and was faithful in her prayer life. She was known as an effective "prayer warrior" and received many prayer requests from friends and family. She studied scripture and had a gift at reciting bible verses.
Her family gives thanks to God for blessing us with this life who was a guiding light and a true source of wisdom and unconditional love. Her legacy will be felt by many. Her earthly presence will be missed at family gatherings and holidays. In difficult times, we will be reminded of her prayers and words of encouragement. Joyce was a beautiful soul and she exercised a simple but most powerful faith in Jesus. She often would stop you and simply say "Let's pray right now, Dear heavenly Father".
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; Jack and Verdie Woolverton, her daughter; Debra Kay Kenney, her first husband and children's father; John Allan Weldon, and husband in later life; Tom Curry, her two sisters; Lavonia Winters and Minnie Alice Barlow; her brother Dale Woolverton.
Joyce is survived by two surviving children, her son; John Steven Weldon and wife Pam Weldon; her son; David Allan Weldon and wife Debbi Weldon. Joyce is survived by eight grandchildren: Steve Kenney and wife Angela, Alisa Weldon and partner Cindy Gracely, De-Ann Stephens and husband Paul, Abbey Larremore and husband James, John Weldon and wife Katie, Cole Weldon and Kay Lynn Weldon and fiancé Shay Scranton. Joyce is survived by eleven great-grandchildren: Johnathan Chavez and wife Sierra, Geneva Garcia and husband Jonatan, Joel Chavez, Joshua Kenney, Kayla Kenney, Kaci Kenney, Clayton Larremore, Wyatt Larremore, Beckam Weldon, Parks Weldon. Joyce is survived by seven great-great grandchildren; Rosalyn Chavez, Jace Chavez, Christian Chavez, Belen Garcia, Sebastion Garcia, Camila Garcia and Liam Chavez.
