Edmundo Herrera Castaneda

Edmundo Castañeda, who was born on September 22, 1972. He passed away February 3, 2026. He went by Junior, Chito, Mundo, dad, pa, and grandpa. Edmundo was a devoted husband, father, and worker. Junior was a man of little words, but his demeanor demanded respect. Having to start from nothing, not even knowing the native language when he came to this land as a young adult. Using only his strong will and hard work ethic, he was able to start and support a family and accomplish his goals. Chito looked mean but was full of joy and laughter once you got to know him. The harder he laughed it would make one of his eyes get cocked all the way closed. His sense of humor was one that was contagious and he had a way of making others enjoy it too. Dad was most proud of his grand babies, just watching them grow up, and being able to see his now grown-up kids through them. Grandpa made it his effort to be there for them and let them know how special they were to him. Mundo was good with his hands and definitely didn’t mind getting them dirty. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix and always tried fix anything himself first before asking for help. Adversity was always faced head on and Edmundo always persevered. A friend to all, and loved by many, Mundo will truly be missed.

Edmundo is survived by his wife Rosa, and his children: Edmund, Jocelyn, Kimberly, and Eduardo.
