Elizabeth Faye Atkinson Carraway, 74, of Deer Park, Texas, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on November 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Elizabeth was born on July 3, 1951, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of S.E. “Don” and Mary Atkinson. A 1969 graduate of Deer Park High School, Liz cherished her lifelong friendships and loved coordinating and socializing at high school reunions and gatherings throughout the years.
Known for her outgoing, take-charge personality, Liz had a gift for bringing people together. She was a devoted mother and a doting grandmother to Ashley and Wyatt. She loved the open road—whether on a motorcycle, in her Charger, or her trusty minivan—always with her high school sweetheart, Nick, by her side.
Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Atkinson; her siblings, Carol Peil and Gary Atkinson and his wife, Kathy; her son, Bryan Hill and his wife, Tara; grandchildren, Ashley Hill and Wyatt Carraway; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews—and her faithful companion, Gypsy.
She was preceded in death by her father, S.E. “Don” Atkinson, and her husband, Nick Carraway.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Pasadena Chapel on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her boundless energy, loving heart, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
