On Friday, April 17, 2026, the Lord called a loving daughter, sister and mother, Elizabeth Norma Patterson, to come to her rightful home. She was a strong woman from the very beginning all the way to her last breath.
Elizabeth lovingly known as Norma/Liz story began on July 8, 1957, in Dow Village, California Trinidad and Tobago. She was the daughter of Beryl and Norman Patterson. When she was young, her family moved to Diego Martin where she started her education. She worked in Port of Spain at Fashion Boutique and as an office clerk in San Fernando Trinidad and Tobago.
Her beauty was undeniable. In 1977, she was crowned Miss Port of Spain, a title that reflected not only her elegance but her poise, her intelligence, and the light she carried effortlessly. To this very day, she is still referred to as the “Queen.”
Elizabeth “Norma” became a mother to her beloved son, Lorenzo, who sadly departed this life before her in 2012. They both migrated to the United States where she lived in New York and New Jersey selling Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Elizabeth “Liz” established her home in Deer Park, Texas. In 1997, she then gave birth to her last child and only daughter, Angel. The bond “Liz” shared with her children was something everlasting. She built a life with hard work, devotion and love for her family and anyone that came her way. Elizabeth was a God-fearing woman and believed to always keep the faith. She was a parishioner of 30+ years of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Legions of Mary.
Elizabeth’s life was not defined by titles or accomplishments alone but by the love and grace she proclaimed. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, strength, and grace.
Elizabeth is proceeded in death by her parent’s, Beryl and Norman, her son, Lorenzo, her brother Herbert, her niece Melinda, her nephews Marlon and Yolande (Joey), and other relatives.
She is survived by her daughter Angel, her siblings: Helen, Sylvia, Lois, and Victor, her nieces: Melissa, Rinelle, Delicia, Shurlane, and Sherse, and nephew: Kelvin and many cousins, great nieces/nephews and friends that are family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, 2026, for the visitation at Deer Park Funeral Directors at 5:00pm followed by a rosary at 6:00pm. A mass will be honored for her at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church.
Even in our deep sorrow, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and that she has been reunited with her son. We will treasure the memories shared and continue to walk in the faith of our Lord and Savior.
Until we meet again, Rest in peace. We love you always and forever.
