Elizabeth Vaquera Obituary

Elizabeth Peña Vaquera, 75, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026. Born on December 4, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of Saul David Peña and Paula Hernandez Peña

Elizabeth was a devoted Christian who dedicated her life to faith, family, and service. Her unwavering commitment to her beliefs was evident in her lifelong involvement with the church. She was a beloved member of First Baptist Church of Pasadena and previously of Trinity Baptist Church. At Trinity Baptist Church, she shared her love for teaching as a kindergarten Sunday school teacher and lent her beautiful voice to the choir. Elizabeth also expressed her creativity by decorating and cooking for numerous weddings within the church community.

A loving wife to her late husband, Moses Vaquera, Elizabeth embodied kindness and generosity throughout her life. She was a devoted mother to her children, Zulema Vaquera and Carlos Vaquera, and a proud grandmother to Destiny Vaquera, Joseph Vaquera, and Alinah Vaquera. She also held a special place in her heart for her godchildren, Genesis Siwel and Justice Siwel.

Elizabeth’s talents extended beyond her faith community. She had a passion for cooking that brought joy to those around her, especially through her famous tamales—and she delighted in creating arts and crafts. Her love for serving others continued at her senior living residence, where she volunteered tirelessly by cooking meals and decorating various events.

Elizabeth’s warmth and compassion touched everyone she met. She prayed fervently for those in need and offered support wherever it was needed. Her legacy as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, and friend will forever be remembered by those whose lives she enriched.

May Elizabeth’s memory bring comfort to all who knew her as they celebrate the remarkable life she lived. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 2, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM for visitation, followed by service at 02:00 PM to 03: 00 PM, at First Baptist Church 7500 Fairmont Pkwy, in the chapel.
