Our beloved matriarch Eva Renata Hudson passed away peacefully the morning of April 17, 2026, at the age of 95 years old.
Born October 24, 1930, in Hochspeyer, Germany, to Karl and Eva Grieser, Eva entered the world during a time of immense historical challenge, and despite those hardships her joyous, generous, and loving spirit persisted. Eva immigrated to the U.S. in 1957 with husband Army Sgt. Riddick Hudson and two young children Sidonia and Karl, and resiliently built a new life as a military family living in Arizona, South Carolina, California, Hawaii, and Indiana until widowed in 1978. Eva then joined her children in Texas and later met her soulmate of 47 years Paul Miller at the famed Gilley's Club.
Eva was the brightest light in the room, radiating her sparkling joy and infectious laughter. Eva enjoyed traveling, making clothes her own style, dancing, and most of all Elvis. Her greatest pride was her family, whom she adored -- "Oma" was legendary for going above and beyond, never missing an opportunity to deliver Easter baskets or a thoughtful gift with a warm hug leaving red lipstick kisses on cheeks.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Eva Grieser, husband Riddick, brother Karl, and sister Martha. She is survived by spouse Paul; children Sidonia and Karl; grandchildren and their spouses TJ, Chad, Mark and Randi, Steven and Tiffany, and Michelle and Steven; great-grandchildren, Tori, Lori, Alex, Nathan, Kolten, Waylen, Grace, Diego, and Misha; great-great-grandson Logan; and her cherished family in Germany.
The visitation will be held at Deer Park Funeral Directors Wednesday May 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM, and the service will start at 1:00 PM, followed by the interment at Grand View cemetery.
