Evagelos Agrapidis Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Evagelos Agrapidis, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who departed this life on December 7, 2024, at the age of 89.

Born on October 21, 1935, on the island of Kefalonia, Greece, Evagelos grew up with a deep appreciation for his homeland’s rich traditions and beauty. In search of opportunity, he immigrated to the United States as a young man, bringing a tireless work ethic and an unyielding spirit.

Shortly after arriving in New York, he met the love of his life Lefki or Lefkoula as he would affectionately call her. Together they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and shared dreams. Married for 55 years, their union was a testament to enduring devotion and strength.

In their marriage's early years, they boldly decided to leave New York and settle in Houston, Texas. There he opened a family-owned restaurant that quickly became a cherished gathering place.

Although Houston became his home, Evagelos never forgot his roots. Every summer he and his family would return to Kefalonia, the island he deeply loved and where he felt most at peace. The summers were filled with family, fresh food, and laughter.

He is survived by his loving wife Lefki, their children Jerry (Elizabeth) Agrapidis and Maria (Orestes) Germanides, and their grandchildren Lefkie and Vasilis Germanides, and Isabella and Evan Agrapidis.

Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church 1100 Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, Texas 77077.
