Faye Ann Carlton was born on March 26, 1934, to Neelis and Mary Louis Hoffpauir in Houston, Texas. Faye passed peacefully in her own home on August 10th, 2023. Faye loved children and was a schoolteacher for Baytown Goose Creek ISD and Crosby ISD for over two decades. After retirement from teaching, she volunteered at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas, where she, continued her love for children, working in the nursery at the hospital.
Faye was married many years to Glenwood Cecil Carlton, until his passing in 2002. After his passing, Faye traveled all over Europe and to Egypt with senior groups from church and donated many hours to several churches in the Baytown area.
One thing everyone comments on is Faye’s love of the Lord and her ability to always give her time and dedication to God. Faye always had a kind word and a sweet spirit to everyone she met. Her smile was contagious and to know her you had to love her.
Faye loved animals and she passed with a precious dog, name Charlie by her side. Her one wish was to never have to leave her home and thanks to wonderful caregivers, the last years of her life, she was able to pass peacefully with them by her side.
Faye Carlton is survived by her only child Claudia Ann Carlton, grandchild Natasha, and great grandchildren, Jean-Luc Buchanan, and Adrian Paul Buchanan. Faye is also survived by her loving sister Betty Boggs and a niece Paula Swofford and nephew Neelis Boggs.
Faye’s Carlton’s favorite verse was from
Psalm 91
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 21st at 10:30 AM, San Jacinto Memorial Park Cemetery at 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015
