Frederick "Tony" Anthony Box

Frederick Anthony “Tony” Box, of Pasadena, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Tony was born on June 24, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to Rose and Fred Box. On August 8, 1975, he married the love of his life, Dorothy “Dot” Dickey. Tony and Dot shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage. He was preceded in death by their only child a daughter, Denise Box.

Tony is survived by his two brothers, John and B.J. Box; nephews, Sean Box, Taylor Box and his wife, Blanca; niece, Christy Roberts; and those he loved as grandchildren, Roman Roberts and Madelyn Box, along with numerous cousins and many cherished friends.

Tony graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in education and went on to earn additional degrees throughout his life. His professional career was as diverse as his interests, including working as a teacher, chemical plant operator, and, later, as owner of Box & Box custom jewelers.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Tony traveled often to Montana, New Mexico, and Argentina, but especially cherished his annual trip to Port Mansfield with his longtime hunting buddies. His love for the outdoors extended into a deep commitment to wildlife conservation and anti-poaching efforts through organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, the Coastal Conservation Association, Safari Club International—where he served as a director, and others.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Deer Park Funeral Directors, located at 336 E. San Augustine Street, Deer Park, Texas 77536.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and neighbors whose thoughts, prayers, and support helped make Tony’s dreams and memories on this earth so meaningful and fulfilled.
