Gary Charles Dunford Sr. of Deer Park, Texas passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born to parents Charles Dunford, and Ann Maresh on October 1, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri. In Heaven, Gary joins his mother Ann and father Charles. Gary leaves behind his loving wife, Wilma Dunford, and Brother Curtis Dunford. Gary is survived by his children: Daughter Tina Turner and husband, Orlando; son Gary Dunford Jr. and Wife, Tracy; son Ennis "Bubba" Wilson, daughter Dorothy Mitt, Sons John Wilson and wife, Cynthia, and son David Dunford and wife, Kamea.
Gary served his country and was a Veteran of the US Airforce. He worked hard for 37 years at Dixie Chemical company, where he later retired. Gary loved going on family vacations, having big family celebrations at their family home, and going rainbow trout fishing in Branson, Missouri. He loved cheering on his hometown team, the St. Louis Cardinals and (sometimes) would claim the Houston Astros. You would often find him listening to Southern Gospel music and talking about his Love for America, Donald Trump, and Elvis.
Gary also leaves behind his 19 grandchildren; Jonathon, Jennifer, Jeremiah, Jillian, Daz, Patrick, Gary "Buddy", Denny Katie, Aaron, Sarah, Joseph, Michael, Robert, Shawn, Tiffany, Ivy, George Lane, David- who is with him in heaven, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gary was a hard worker, had many passions, was genuine, and always wanted to give to those he loved. He will be greatly missed, and remembered for the wonderful man, husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that he was.
Family will receive relatives and friends on June 21, 2024, at the visitation held at the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors at 10:00 A.M.
Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. also at the Chapel of Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023
