Gene Colley of Fredericksburg, TX, February 4, 1935, to April 23, 2024. Gene stepped into heaven to be welcomed by family, friends, and numerous doggos- he could never say no to a stray. He had a life full of serving others, building teams and accomplishing goals. He enjoyed reading novels, building things, growing gardens, and talking with anyone for good conversation.
Gene was married to Beth Heaton Colley (joined heaven Sept 2008) for 46 years with two children, Matt Colley (Pasadena, TX) and Desiree Colley (Fredericksburg, TX) along with his granddaughter Jolene Colley which he adored.
After their divorce, he married Joye Rossi Colley (recently went to be with the Lord January 2024).
He is survived by his brother, Jack Colley along with wife Christine Colley who reside in Fountain Hills, AZ.
After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy Reserves for 7 years to help pay for graduating from University of Texas EL Paso in 1961 with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Gene’s passion was being a fire fighter, he was a dedicated member of the Volunteer Fire Department. Starting his career in Pasadena, TX then moving to Deer Park Fire Department achieving rank of Chief. Serving 35 years, he retired.
Throughout his life, he served various organizations and service to the community, but he most enjoyed the role of Instructor at Texas A&M Fire Fighters Annual Training school and did that for numerous years before finally retiring.
