Glenn Bridges Obituary

In Loving Memory of Glenn Bridges
Glenn Bridges, born on July 15, 1952, in Malden, Massachusetts, was sent to his eternal home with Jesus
after passing on September 17, 2025 in Deer Park, Texas. He was the beloved son of Charles and Helen
Bridges, who preceded him in death.
Glenn is survived by his loving family, including his sisters Marie and Barbara, his brother Alvin, his
brothers-in-law, William and Joe, and his sister-in-law, Ann. He was the cherished Uncle Glenn-y-Boy of
Kevin, Katie, Christopher, Curtis, Leslie-Ann, Ashley, Joseph, and Daniel, and their spouses Joey,
Meredith, Sarah, Bryan, Cameron, and Kelsey. He also leaves behind his TWENTY-FIVE Great Nieces and
Nephews who absolutely adored him. Among them are Dane, Jake, Landon, Ayden, Emily, Olivia, Stella,
Gracelyn, Levi, Kate, Austin, Josh, Beau, Luke, Savannah, Grant, Violet, Kenzie, Charlie, Addison,
Margaret, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Camden and William.
After his graduation from Galena Park High School, Glenn graduated from the University of Houston with
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, and went on to achieve a Master of Education in Educational
Administration from Texas A&M University. He taught for thirty-five years at Whitcomb Elementary in
Clear Creek ISD, and retired in 2008. He then became a full-time sub at Deer Park High School for
roughly fifteen years, where he was affectionately known as the “Weatherman”. He was dearly loved by
the staff and students, and was often voted teacher of the week, month, and year! His relationship with
Jesus brought light to those around him, and his joyful and generous spirit impacted thousands of people
during his incredible career as an educator.
Glenn-y-Boy, as he was affectionately known, was driven by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in
Jesus. He was so very intentional, and spent much of his time writing notes, cards, and words of
encouragement to those he loved. He was always a listening ear, and made every person he came into
contact with feel important. Glenn was an avid lover of American and Texas History, American currency,
weather, Whataburger, Luby’s, Westerns, and musicals! He was extremely artistic and creative, and
generously poured these gifts into the people he loved.
Those who knew Glenn will remember him for his deep-rooted faith in Jesus, his infectious smile and
overwhelming laughter, and his selflessness. He had a rare gifting from the Lord for making others feel
seen and loved, and he left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. His passing has left a void in the
hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember
him for the way his life was lived - for Jesus and for others.
