Grace Radford Obituary

Grace W. Radford, 87, of LaPorte, TX and previously eastern North Carolina and Southern Califorina, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 8, 2006,after a long illness. She was born Mary Grace Waller on June 22, 1918, in Greene Co.,NC, to Sudie and Charles Waller. Preceding her in death were her father and mother; her Husband Elmon T. Radford, her stepfather Wm B (Will)Mozingo; brother Thurman (TB) Waller and two sisters Virginia Mozingo and Anne Ozora Jenkins. Surviving Grace are her two loving Children, son Charles Radford and wife Pat of Asheville, NC;daughter Wanda Honeycutt of the home in LaPorte. Also surviving in NC are brother Wilson Waller and wife Hattie and children;sister Helen Jackson and husband Jack and children;Two brothers in Florida, Wm Gerald(Bill) Mozingo,Bobby C.(BOB) Mozingo and Charlene and children;and sister-in-laws Beatrice Waller and Lucille Taylor and family (NC). Grace also Leaves three grandsons and their wives, Chuck and Tracy Radford, Asheville; Ronnie and Julie Honeycutt of Nashville,TN; Kelly and Tasha Honeycutt,of LaPorte; and seven great grandchildren so precious to her, Cort and Rachel, Allie and Ethan; and Nathan, Chelsea and Grace Elizabeth; many close friends, nephews and nieces, esp. Peggy Rau,Kinston, more like a sister during their 18 years in CA; and so many of her late husband's nephews,nieces and families in and from Snow Hill, NC, still devoted to Grace all these years. Her live passions have been her children and Christian Faith, her writings, and her wonderful Southern cooking, in demand by so many. Since joining Wanda in Seabrook-LaPorte area more than 13 years ago, she continued her poetry and long-time ministry of encouraging cards and letters, locally and across the country, personally and through Her local church. An unfulfilled desire in her last days was to regain her health and join her grandson's family in worship at Life Community Church, LaPorte, where a memorial service will be held, 9529 W. Fairmont Parkway, at 2:30 PM Feb 12,2006. In Lieu of flowers,memorials may be made to Life Community Church or to The Arthritis Foundation/South TX Chapter, Houston,TX; or your favorite charity.
