Ida Nell (Gulihur) Flournoy

Ida Nell Gulihur-Flournoy, 79 of Deer Park, Texas passed away in home surrounded by her family on November 4th, 2023. Ida was born March 1st, 1944 in Chickasaw, Oklahoma and was one of five children born to Donald and Lois Gulihur. Ida was a long time resident of Deer Park and graduated from Deer Park High School in 1962.

After Ida graduated she began her working career at Texas International Airlines. Ida grew fond of traveling to places such as Switzerland and Hawaii. Ida loved to hang out with her friends and enjoyed bowling, listening to classic country music, shopping and watching NASCAR races. Ida also collected porcelain dolls, She loved to eat Bluebell ice cream and really any sweet treats.

Ida was a loving, kind, compassionate and selfless woman who would help anyone she could. Ida loved to celebrate every holiday especially Christmas. Ida had a talent to create the most exquisite bows to make you feel extra special. Ida enjoyed having her family together as much as possible and hosting family functions. 

Ida is proceeded in death by her husband William A. Flournoy of 32 years prior to his death is 2014. Ida is also proceeded in death by her parents Donald and Lois Gulihur; her brothers, Donald and James Gulihur; sister, Mona Lee Smith and sister in law, Frances Gulihur. Ida is survived by her daughter Wendy Burgess; and stepdaughter M'Lissa Christopherson and husband Dave; and brother, William Gulihur. Ida is also survived by her Grandchildren Whitney Lewis and Graciela Trevizo; Brittany and Robert Hammers; and William and Abriel Lewis; Great-Grandchildren Brent, Colten, Jordyn and Logan Lewis; and Sabastian and Seth Trevizo.
