James Patrick Ogden

James Patrick Ogden, 66, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 25, 1958, in Houston, Texas, James lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep love for the outdoors.

James built a dedicated career in pipe fitting, a trade that reflected his strength, skill, and work ethic. Beyond his profession, he was a loving husband, supportive father, playful grandfather, and a constant presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Whether he was hunting, fishing, splashing around with the kids, or taking family vacations, James found joy in simple pleasures and made lasting memories with those closest to him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Sue Ogden; children Billy and Tausha Rhodes, Jessica Taylor, and Jamie Witten; and numerous beloved grandchildren: Alexis, Dominick, Zoie, (in heaven: Lorelai, Bradley, Kyleigh); Toriana; Kaitlyn, Jesse, and Jasmine; many nieces, and nephews. He was also blessed with the companionship and love of his siblings: Pat and Joe Hilton; Bill (in heaven) and JoAnn Ogden; Tom and Sherry Ogden; Kathy and Ron Wilson; LaJuana and Richard Fucik; Kenneth and Susan Ogden; Sidney Ogden (in heaven); Diane and David Collier; Teresa Hinojosa; John and Connie Ogden; and Polly and Alan Nichols.

He is also survived by Kathy Sue’s loving family, including his in-laws Bill and Alta Griffith (in heaven); siblings Billie (in heaven) and Mike Musselwhite, Donna Griffith, Alta and Bill Hardy, Deady and James Ortega, and Tommy and Gina Griffith; along with many nieces and nephews who shared in cherished moments and supported James throughout the years.

James was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Rose; his parents, Willard and Claudia Ogden; and siblings Bill and Sidney Ogden.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. at Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E San Augustine St., Deer Park, TX 77536.

The interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. 

James’s life was a testament to love, loyalty, and quiet strength. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and legacy he leaves behind.
