Janet Prescott Obituary

Janet DaNene Prescott was born on May 1, 1937, to Homer and Evelyn Douthit. She was born in Birmingham Alabama and was raised there. She went on to graduate High School, eventually met her future husband, fell in love, married Walt Prescott and began a family. She was such a beautiful gift to her family and friends. She was always friendly and outgoing, constantly anticipating other people's needs. She was the type of person who never met a stranger.

Janet Prescott passed away on October 25, 2023, from a case of pneumonia. Fortunately, today at this moment, she is in the presence of the Lord Jesus. Now her illnesses and afflictions have become nothing but a far distant memory for her.

Janet, more commonly known to family as Mom, Gamaw or Gamoo, is survived by her husband Walter Warren Prescott, her three sons, Donald Prescott, Bobby Jay Prescott, and his wife, Shawn Leeann Prescott, and Johnathan Warren Prescott, and his wife, Adriana Elizabeth Prescott.

She is survived by her five grandchildren, Jason Marin Prescott, and his wife Leah Lambeth Prescott, Cortney Elizabeth Jernagan, and her husband Zachary Jernagan, Amy Renee Prescott, Paige Victoria Evers and her husband Benjamin Evers, and last but definitely not least, Annabel Sophia Prescott. Her only great-grandchild so far to date, is Finn Prescott, who just turned 6 years old.

She is also survived by her two bonus grandchildren and friends of the family, Kirsten Henry-Barnett, and Ryan Michael Robbins. As well as all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and love of Jesus.

She often said that her life had been a great adventure, after living in Saudi Arabia for 7 years. She went on a "round the world" trip, or two, and also lived, on the Island of Curacao in the Caribbean. After all that, she was content to settle down and live her golden years with Dad. She enjoyed spending time with her adult children, but she poured even more love into her grandchildren.
