Jean Ann Lane Obituary

Jean Ann Larson Lane was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 20, 1936 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13, 2024.  Ann, as she was known by her family and friends, grew up in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1954.

She married the love of her life, Floyd Lee Lane, on November 22, 1957.  After raising three children, she become a Licensed Vocational Nurse and found her calling in private duty nursing.  Upon retiring from nursing, she and Lee established an antique business.

She was a 34 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Archives Chapter No. 1095 where she served as chaplain.  She attended Praise Chapel in Webster, TX where she had many special friends.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grand-mother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She was a talented seamstress, often creating her own designs for her daughters and granddaughters. She and Lee loved to travel, touring the United States in their RV.   Lovingly known as Me-Me by her grandchildren, some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by them while she played the piano and sang hymns.

She dearly loved to garden and her home was always landscaped to perfection.  She loved all roses especially the old heirloom type.  Her last garden project was her most beautiful and colorful creation and has been admired by many.

Most importantly, Ann loved Jesus. From youth, her Lord was first and foremost in her life. She taught her children and grandchildren how to pray; and never failed to pray for them.  Abraham Lincoln once said, “I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me.  They have clung to me all my life.”  Ann surrounded her family with prayer.

Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, John Marion and Willie B. Larson, her loving husband of 55 years, Floyd Lee Lane, her daughter, Tamara Ann Lane, daughter-in-law, Felicia Lynn Lane and grandson, Jordan Lee Lane.  She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Lane Webb and husband Lee; son, Robert Larson Lane, Sr.; grandchildren, Jason Alan Webb and wife Kayla, Dusty Eve Welch and husband Joshua, Richard Sean Rogers and wife Imelda, Robert Larson Lane, Jr. and wife Mona, Ashley Lane Stidham and husband Jared, Timothy Roy Lane and wife Heather, Holly Nicole Morris and Julia Ann Romero and husband Matthew.  She also had 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 24 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors with a service at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Forest Park-Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston TX.
