Jimmy Gilbert Hollis

Jimmy Gilbert Hollis, born April 12, 1939 in Hope, Arkansas passed away December 28, 2024 at the age of 85 in Deer Park, Texas.

Jimmy was born in Hope, Arkansas where he played football and got a scholarship to further his education. Years later he met Joan in Springhill, LA and they married in June 1965. They moved to Texas due to work and years later 1976 moved to Deer Park, Tx where they have been ever since. He was an Electrician and worked construction for many years, then went to work for Hughes Tool for 21 years until they shut down and then went to work for the City of Houston until he retired in 2004. He worked for Enterprise Rent A Car for several years part-time to get out of the house. He belong to the IBEW 716 for 67 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Deer Park.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Owen and Pearl Hollis, father in law and mother in law Les and Dorothy Moore, daughter Autumn Hollis Hughes, and sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Jackie Lewis.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Joan Hollis, daughter’s Stephanie Hollis, Diana Griego and husband Tom, Cindy Lollis, grandchildren Chris Castillo and wife Brandie, Eric Prickett, Austin Lollis, Nick Lollis, Stephanie Griego, Michael Baker, Latosha Yates Faust and  husband Dan, great grandchildren Aria and Thea Castillo, Shelby and Hayden Prickett, Johnny Lollis,  Azeleigh Lollis, Guinevere and Bennett Faust, brother Gary Hollis and wife Boneta, sisters-in-law Barbara Moore, Janice Blaylock and husband Larry and numerous other relatives.

The viewing is from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Deer Park Funeral Directors on Friday, January 3, 2025.  Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Deer Park, 438 E. 8th Street on Saturday January 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Interment Grandview Cemetery
