John David Cain of Deer Park, Texas passed away peacefully January 12, 2024. John David was born in Hayes, Kansas, January 18, 1946, to John Joseph Cain and Barbara Smith Cain. He was a Combat Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Airforce from 1966 to 1970. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant. He married the love of his life Connie Kay Hoobler May 31, 1968. In 1970, they moved to Pasadena, Texas. John graduated from The University of Houston in May 1989 with a Bachelor of Science. John also graduated from San Jacinto College with an Associates of Applied Science. He worked Safety at ITC, GNI Group and other refineries along the ship channel. He served 35 years as a volunteer fireman for Pasadena and Deer Park fire department, 5 of those years as the fire Marshall. John had a passion for helping others. After retiring as a fireman he then graduated from the Deer Park Citizen's Police Academy in 2010. He further served his community as a Security Officer for Deer Park ISD for 15 years.
John was a loving, caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed dearly.
John is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Connie. He is survived by his daughters, Christy White and her husband Joe and Jennifer Johnson and her partner Gary Mcgee of Deer Park, his grandchildren, Austin Cain and his wife Melissa Villa, Kayla Johnson, Eric Johnson, and great grandchildren Nate and Wyatt Cain. Also his sister in law Debbie Medellin and lots of nephews and nieces.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday January 18, 2024 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors. Family Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Rosary at 6:00 PM.
