Joseph Lee Edwards, Jr.

Joseph Lee Edwards Jr. was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 21, 1949, to Joseph Lee Edwards Sr. and Georgia Mae Grace. He was also the big brother to Gloria Anne Edwards, whom he loved dearly.

Growing up, Joe was an independent and inquisitive child who enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. At the age of 19, he met the love of his life, Lorraine, and they married in 1969. Shortly after they'd begun building their family, Joe was drafted into the Vietnam War. During his honorable service, he served as a target analyst and assisted in the capture of hostile entities in surrounding foreign territories until his return home in 1971. Over the next 55 years, he and Lorraine raised their four children and doted on their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe had so much love to give and was always the life of the party with his dry sense of humor and unforgettable laugh.

Joe is survived by his wife Lorraine Raye Edwards and their four children Michelle Lee Henderson, Krystal Melanie Agnew, Melissa Melody Miller, Sean Eric Edwards, his six grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren: the many lights of his life.
Joe is loved by all of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.

Family will receive friends and family during a Visitation on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. thru 11:30 A.M. at the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 San Augustine St., Deer Park, Texas.  Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
