Larry Gene Robinson Jr. was born to the late Larry Gene Robinson and Cheryl Kay Robinson on December 23rd, 1969 in Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri. He passed away peacefully in La Porte, Texas on December 30, 2024 after a day of communicating with loved ones and watching football.
To the family he was born into, he was known as Rob or Robby; but more proudly Dad. He leaves behind his brothers Aaron Robinson, William (Billy) Robinson; and sister Lydia Faith Richardson as well as their spouses; and his beloved daughter Ashley Dewald and spouse. He also leaves behind an abundance of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Rob kept a watchful eye on his extended family through the benefits of social media, he rejoiced with them in their accomplishments; and broke for them with their heartaches. He was proud of his family and frequently spoke of them. God gives you the family you are born into; but he also allows you to find family along the way of your journey. Larry also leaves behind his wife Lisa Fay Robinson and children John-David, Erika, Erin and Kayla Cordova as well as Joseph Manuel Vela who he helped raise and fondly and proudly called his son. Through this found family, Larry also had four grandchildren; including Xzavier Guerra.
Besides football, Larry also had a passion for music and movies, possessing a wealth of knowledge on all. Like music, Larry’s taste in movies varied and he was always excited to watch the latest movies. Larry was also very passionate about his political beliefs; and he was a staunch Trump supporter. He was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather. Words can do no justice for the complexities of this man who was extremely loved and will be deeply missed.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2025, in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 Am until service time.
