Larry Robert Hock Obituary

Larry Robert Hock, 59, died unexpectedly in his home on September 6th, 2025. He was born on August 31st, 1966, in Torrance, California, the son of Larry Hock, and Barbara Strong-Voltz.

Larry graduated from Narbon High School in 1985 and did 2 years in the US Navy as a firefighter. Afterwards, he went to college to get his Process Technician Certification.

He met his wife, Georgia Adams-Hock in 1992, and married on April 30th, 1994. They have been happily married for 31 years and have 2 beautiful children and one amazing son-in-law.

Larry worked as a chemical operator, Health and Joint Safety Representative, Firefighter, and EMT for 30 years.  He retired from LyondellBasell May 15, 2025. He was the owner of the award-winning Big Mama’s Cooking Team for 32 years and volunteered for the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo for many, many years. He loved working on the family farm to make a retirement home for him and his lovely wife, Georgia. He also loved hunting white tail deer, along with an occasional squirrel, rabbit, bobcat, or hogs.

Larry was an exceptionally hard worker, and he loved to play even harder. He was dedicated to his family and friends and learning new things. He had a passion for woodworking, welding, and a newfound love for golf. His passion for traveling around the country and the world was like no other. He would never fail to leave you with a dirty, inappropriate joke to make you as uncomfortable as he could (and then laugh about it) or rub the closest pregnant belly. But most of all, he loved hard, and everyone closest to him always felt it.

He was predeceased by his father, Larry Hock, and stepfather, Jim Voltz. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Hock; son, Brandon Hock; daughter and son-in-law, Danielle Hock & Owen Pierce; mother, Barbara Voltz; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa & Garrett Wright; and countless nieces and nephews, and friends that are more like family.”
