Laura Kolterman Hooker

Laura Kolterman Hooker passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and daughters on June 20th, 2023.  

She is survived by her husband Ron Hooker, daughter Melinda Stephenson and husband David, daughter Kimberly Williford and husband Danny, stepchildren Mary Ann Beach and Rocky Hooker, sister Joyce Stagg, and nieces Angela and Jennifer Stagg.

Her grandchildren Claire, Clay, Blake, Trinity, Micah, Dylan, Cheyanne, Terance, and Devawn, and great-grandchildren Mason, Jade, Lizzy, Leighton, and Andrea were precious to her. "Precious" was her favorite word to call those she loved. She loved her family deeply.

Laura was born August 11, 1943, to Charles Edward and Nancy Hamilton in Houston, Texas.  She graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston. After graduating from the University of Houston, Laura taught unwed pregnant mothers for Houston Independent School District. She later became a real estate broker in the Pasadena and Clear Lake areas for over 25 years, during which time she met her beloved husband. They owned Century 21 NASA for several years before retiring from real estate. She later worked as a catastrophe insurance adjuster for FEMA.

Laura had an adventurous spirit and could light up the room with her laughter. She would laugh at anything! David Stephenson especially loved it when Laura, Melinda, and Kim would laugh at the same time. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends (especially when she won), fishing with her husband, music, going out to eat with friends and loved ones, dancing, and "trying" to play golf.  

Laura's family and friends will miss her.  She was deeply loved.

A celebration of life will be held at In His Presence Fellowship, 1202 E P St, Deer Park on June 24th, with visitation from 11 am - 12 pm, followed by a service from 12 pm - 1 pm.
