Our dear mother Linda Lee Crippen Blackwell 78 of Deer Park, Tx sadly passed away on January 29, 2025. She was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on August 14, 1946, to the late Paul and Helen Crippen. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
She was a graduate of University of Houston Clear Lake where she obtained her Bachelor's of Education. She then went on to teaching in public schools for 25+ years. Even after retirement she continued to tutor in schools, taught ESL, and taught in preschool for many years.
Her passion for teaching was infectious, and her unwavering belief in her students pushed them to reach beyond their perceived limits. Beyond the classroom, she was a mentor, a friend, and a guiding light, always offering a kind word and a supportive smile. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught, the dreams she ignited, and the impact she made on countless lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers James Paul Crippen and Cameron Scott Crippen. She is survived by her Husband of 59 years Richard Lee Blackwell; Brother Thomas Paul Crippen Tyler, Tx; Son Richard Paul Blackwell wife Thuy Blackwell of Deer Park, Tx; Daughter Kimberly Anne Blackwell Pierce husband Christopher Pierce of Deer Park, Tx; Sister in law Diane Blackwell Wright husband Wayne Wright of Benbrook, Tx; grandchildren Christian Rivas 26, Kendall Pierce 20, Isabell Blackwell 17, Cameron Pierce 15, and Jackson Blackwell 14; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on February 10, 2025, at 6pm South Main Baptist Church Pasadena, Tx 77505
