Lynn Sorge

Our sweet dear mother, Lynn Sorge, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the age of 74.  She was the most wonderful mother who was always there for us and went above and beyond for her family.  She was so very loved and will be greatly missed.

Lynn was born November 4th, 1948, in Macon, Georgia to William James Estes and Jimmie Robbins. Lynn grew up in Georgia and soon her family moved to Texas.  She graduated from South Houston High School.  Then moved on to work in the travel industry as a Certified Travel Agent for forty years.  She loved to travel.  Oh, the places she’s been.  She took great pleasure in planning and sending her clients on many beautiful vacations.

Lynn loved to spend time with her family.  She also had many cherished friendships and lots that she considered family.  She made a positive impact on everyone she met.  And the most thoughtful.  She made you feel special and loved.  Lynn never met a stranger.  She touched so many lives with her warmhearted and gracious personality.  She was loved dearly by all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through family and friends.

Lynn is preceded in death by her father and mother,  as well as her husband John Sorge. She is survived by her daughters Leigh Ann Sorge, Jennifer Swindoll and husband Charles Swindoll, Jr..  Her brother Terry Robbins, and sister Mary Jane Allen and husband Charles Allen, brother-in-law Robert Sorge and wife Debbie.  As well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Houston SPCA and American Diabetes Association.

A celebration of life ceremony is being held 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23,2023 in the chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E. San Augustine, Deer Park, TX 77536 to celebrate and honor her.
