Maria Alicia Arizmendez, 73, of El Lago, Texas, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on November 7, 2025.
Known for her outgoing, cheerful personality, Maria had a gift for making people laugh and smile. She was a devoted mother to Frank, Michelle, Lorraine, and Michael. Maria was an even more devoted grandmother to Corey, Amber, Paxton, Michael Layne, Vyktoryah, Danielle, Denise, Zayvian, Brandon, Justin, and Nathan; and great grandchildren Braycen, Kyleigh, Isabella, and Aurora. When she was a little younger and more mobile, she loved going out and dancing with her beloved husband, Richard Arizmendez
Maria is survived by her husband Richard Arizmendez; her children Frank DeLeon and his wife Bonnie, Michelle Reyes and her husband Mike, Lorraine Winters and her husband Joey, Michael Gutierrez and wife Lisette, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews—and her faithful family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Maria Vasquez; mother Manuela Vasquez; bothers, Freddy, Joe, Johnny, Salvador, Earnest, Danny; and sister, Mercy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Deer Park Funeral Directors on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. A mass will be held at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church on Saturday, November 15, 2025, followed by a burial at Cedar Bayou Cemetery.
Maria will be remembered for her boundless energy, loving heart, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
