Mary Anne Pituch, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 67.
Mary was born on July 23, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, to Katherine and Petro Demczuk. She was raised in the heart of Chicago’s Ukrainian Village, where her joyful spirit and deep cultural roots began to blossom.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Ivanka Kugler and Peter Pituch; and by her cherished grandchildren: Maximus, Gabriel, Aurora, and Seraphina — all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Mary will be remembered for her fun-loving, kind, and vibrant personality. Her contagious laugh could light up any room, and her warmth and compassion touched all who knew her. She was strong, spiritual, outgoing, and always had a goofy joke or a big smile to share.
A lover of painting, romantic movies, mystery shows, shopping, and, most of all, her grandchildren, Mary also dedicated over 20 years of her life as a certified phlebotomist in McHenry, Illinois, where she raised her family and built a meaningful life.
A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Orthodox Church in Houston, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
Mary will be laid to rest at Holy Archangels Greek Orthodox Monastery in Kendalia, Texas.
