Nancy Ann Wiley, 83, of Seabrook, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2023, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by loving family.
Nancy was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Ned and Inez Thomas. She was raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas, by her grandparents Estelle and John Thomas. She also spent time with her Aunt Margaret Ann Thomas, and her two girls, Judy and Betty, sharing many fun times. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1958. Upon graduation, she married Sam Stephens in 1959, followed by the birth of their two daughters, Stephanie and Lynley.
In 1975, Nancy married John Wiley and became a stepmom to Kitty, Sandy, Patty, and Susie. Nancy and John resided in many places; Deer Park, South Houston, Clear Lake and San Antonio. She and John were loyal church members in the areas where they lived.
Nancy wore many hats as a wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly and also worked many different jobs throughout her life. She started out in the savings and loan business, worked as a realtor, co-owned the Country Cottage Tea Room in Deer Park,Texas, worked for Beacon Credit Union and in her later years loved being your Avon Lady. Her wish was to continue working until her last days on earth.
Known for her warm, genuine smile and outgoing, friendly nature, Nancy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not sadness of her passing. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Inez Thomas, her husband John Wiley and her son-in-laws, Rudy Ybarra and Greg Barnes. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Stephens (Judy), Lynley Williams (Rick), Kitty Nelson (Neil), Sandy Graham Williamson (George), Patty Moore-Payne (Larry), Susie Barnes, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchilden.
A celebration of life will be held at Nassau Bay Baptist Church, 18131 Nassau Bay Dr., Houston, TX, 77058, on January 23, 2024, at 11:00am, and the family will receive friends there at 10:00am.
