P.B. Dover Jr. of Deer Park, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at the age of 88.
P.B. was born on November 4, 1936, in Bullard Texas, to Edna Mayfield and P.B. Dover Sr. He grew up on a farm in east Texas. P.B. graduated from Bullard High School in 1955. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he served as a Crew Chief for the 13th Bomb Squadron. P.B. was discharged from active duty in November of 1957, after being discharged he served in the Reserves for several years.
In December of 1957, he married his first wife, Frances Ramer, with whom he had 3 children. While raising a family, P.B. often worked 3 jobs and went to college. He was determined to make a better life for his family. He earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Houston. He then attended the South Texas College of Law, where he earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. After passing the State Bar of Texas in 1967, P.B. moved his family to Deer Park, Texas, where he began practicing civil law. Success came pretty quickly, as has law practice grew and he was named City Attorney for Deer Park in 1969. P.B. served in that position for 31 years, during that time he also served a judge for the city. He retired in 2000.
In April of 1987 he married his wife, Mamie Louise. They had an amazing life together, for almost 38 years. They traveled the world together, going on cruise after cruise.
P.B. was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Margie Bright, and his brother, Rowan Dover. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mamie Louise Dover, his brother Valley Dover and wife Lucy, his 3 children, Bobby Dover and wife Copal, Christy Dover Poe, and Gary Dover and wife Rhonda. He had 5 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday March 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E. San Augustine, Deer Park Funeral Directors. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday March 6, 2025, Deer Park Funeral Directors. Private interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
