Paul S. Fischer, a devoted husband, father, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Born on February 2, 1935, in Pierce County Wisconsin, to Alvin Fischer and Anna Spahr, Paul spent his early years in Wisconsin before earning his bachelor's degree from University of Tennessee.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he served at the Pentagon and was honorably discharged in October 1962. His career in information technology focused on inventory design, where he was known for his precision and dedication.
Faith played a central role in Paul’s life. He was a committed member of the Lutheran church, serving faithfully as an usher for many years. His quiet strength and reliability were hallmarks of his characters.
Paul was first married top Wilma Jean Dunn, with whom he shared the joy of raising two children: Robert Walter Fischer and Ann Fischer. After Wilma’s passing, Paul found love again with Linda Fischer. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, mutual respect, and adventure. Their travels across the United States brought them to many cherished places, especially Glacier National Park in Montana, where they enjoyed fishing and white-water rafting.
Paul was a good provider and a gentle soul who believed in letting people be themselves. His relationship with Linda was a testament to that philosophy: “He let Linda be Linda and she let Paul be Paul.”
He is preceded in death by his former wife Wilma Jean Dunn.
Survivors are his son, Robert Walter Fischer; daughter Ann Fischer; grandson Bo Fischer; wife Linda Fischer, and stepchildren, Charlie Johnson and Jane Buffalo.
Visitation will be held at Deer Park Funeral Directors on November 19th from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Paul will be laid to rest with Military Honors at the Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, November 20th at 2:15 P.M.
Paul's legacy of services, love, and quiet strength will live on in the heart of those who knew him.
Rest in peace Paul, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
