With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pearlia Mae Malott, a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Pearl was born on January 24, 1946, in Chavies, Kentucky, to Earl and Kathyrn Toler. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters at the age of 80 on March 29, 2026, in Vidor, Texas.
Pearl had a passion for creating handmade treasures. These included crafting, painting, and sewing beautiful quilts. She took great pride in gifting these items to her family and friends. She was actively involved in her children’s sporting activities, coaching little league and cheering from the stands during their childhood games. Pearl’s greatest masterpiece was her family, particularly her children and grandbabies who brought immense joy to her life. Being one of twelve children, her life was deeply enriched by the extraordinary bond she shared with her siblings. Her sisters were her best friends, confidants, and an unwavering support system.
Pearl had a gypsy spirit, traveling and living in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, and Texas. She was admired and loved by all who knew her. Her enduring friendships, beautiful smile, the sound of her infectious laughter, and sense of humor will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched.
Pearl is survived by her daughters, Tonia (Carl) Hollon and Sonia (Terry) Malott-Whitmire, she is also survived by her adored ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, William Edward Malott II.
In addition to her beloved son, she was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Kathyrn Toler, brothers Dick Toler, Paul Toler, and Floyd Toler.
A graveside service will take place at Cedarcrest Cemetery on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved son.
