Phylip Leroy Maylum

Phylip Leroy Maylum, age 63, of Deer Park, Texas, passed away on May 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on December 12, 1962, in Cornwall, New York, to Leslie Richard Maylum and Alice (Riggs) Maylum, Phylip was the youngest of seven boys. He grew up in Davenport, Iowa, where he attended school before later moving to Texas, where he built his life and planted his roots. In August 1997, he married the love of his life, Stacy, and together they shared 33 years of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Phylip was retired and found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, Lainey and Amelia. He also adored his beloved fur baby, Brandy, whom he spoiled just as much. Family and friends meant everything to him. Known as the life of the party, Phylip had a gift for lighting up every room he entered with his humor, warmth, and larger-than-life personality.

He enjoyed listening to music, especially his favorite artist, Eddie Money. He was deeply patriotic and proudly displayed his love for his country, often making sure an American flag was always visible. Phylip honorably served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Texas CGN and the USS Midway.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Stacy Maylum; his sons, Daniel (Meghan) Maylum and Bradley (Vivian) Maylum; his daughter, Courtney (Cisco) Clapper; his cherished granddaughters, Lainey and Amelia; and his beloved fur baby, Brandy; brothers, Leslie, Mark and David Maylum and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Phylip was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Eric, Gregory and Garret. 

Services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Phylip's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
