Phyllis attended Barbourville High School, Class of 1964. She was an administrative assistant with Aristech Chemicals in Pittsburg Pennsylvania and retired from Chevron Texaco in Houston. Her work assignments included Deming Quality Management Instructor, ISO 9000 Internal Auditor, Covey 7 Habits Instructor, and Ergonomics Evaluator.
Phyllis enjoyed road trips, cooking and dining, home decorating and remodeling. Her love of music led to supporting the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Galveston 1894 Opera House, and The Context Piano Program at Rice. She also subscribed to the Deer Park Art Park Players and The Pasadena Little Theater.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Samuel James Bulger, his son, Samuel Alvin Bulger, and her son, Richard Simmons and sisters Nora Jean Taylor, and Della Marion. She had twelve and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Renie Jordan and Nealie Messer Jordan; sister Floretta Farrel and brothers Tensley, Leslie, Victor and James.
A celebration of life will be held at our home, date and time to be determined.
