It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Reita Reber, 93 years of age, who passed away on June 28, 2026, at her home in Baytown, Texas. Reita was born on September 15, 1932, in Donie, Texas to William Emmett Dossey and Dessie Mae Scott Dossey. She was known for her vibrant spirit and love of traveling with her husband Cleve. Together, they traveled the world, met and made many new friends, owned and operated several businesses, and shared many adventures together. Her other loves were family, dancing, collecting jewelry and crafting.
She enjoyed cooking for friends and family and playing with her great-nieces and nephews. Reita enjoyed taking care of those around her. She was a blessing to her sister, Altha when she needed help and to Truman and Martha when Martha’s mother became ill. If you ever needed anything all you had to do was ask.
Reita was preceded in death by her parents, William Emmett Dossey and Dessie Mae Dossey; her husband, Cleve Reber; brothers, William earl Dossey and wife, Caroline and Dean Ray Dossey and wife Della; sisters, Leatha Whitaker and husband George, Altha Williamson and husband WH and brother-in-law, Dewey Fuller.
Reita is survived by her brother, James T. Dossey and wife Martha; her sisters Margie Fuller, Jane Cox and husband Nelson and a large, loving extended family including many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was wonderful like no other
One who never really grew old
Her smile was made of sunshine
And her heart was solid gold
Her eyes were like shining stars
And her cheeks like roses you see
She’s still keeping an eye on us
Let’s make sure she likes what she sees
Until we meet again, rest in peace. We love you always.
