Robert Nolan Bright, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 24, 2024, at the ae of 68. Born in Galveston, Texas. Robert was one of five sons born to Margie Bright, who always joked there were “no girls to be had!” Growing up surrounded by brother instilled in him a lifelong sense of loyalty and camaraderie.
Robert attended Tyler Junior College, North Texas State University, and the University of Texas at Tyler. A proud UT fan, he loved cheering for his Longhorns and had a passion for all sports. Golf was another joy of his, and in younger years, he relished time on the course.
Deer Park Lumber became Robert’s second home, and his colleagues there were like family. He spent countless hours dedicated to his work, forging deep bonds that brought him great pride and joy.
Robert shared a special connection with his Uncle Valley Dover, with whom he celebrated a birthday. The two enjoyed a unique bond that extended into many cherished family traditions. He also loved trips to Las Vegas and local casinos, creating unforgettable memories with loved ones.
Robert is survived by his devoted brother, Kelly Bright, and his wife, Kelly; his nieces, Whitney Nelson and her husband Jason, and Kara King and her husband Tyler; and his great-nephews, August, Oliver, Damon and Theo. He is also remembered with love by his Uncle PB Dover and Aunt Lou, his Uncle Valley Dover and Aunt Lucy, as well as special cousins, Cheryl, Paula, Gary, Bobby, and Christy.
Preceding him in death is his brother, David Bright. During the last months of his life, his brother Kelly was his lifeline, providing unwavering support and care. His Aunt Lucy Dover also brought comfort and light during his extended hospital stay, creating treasured moments together.
Robert’s warmth, humor, and steadfast love for his family and friends will be missed deeply. His legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
