Rodger Dale Hamby, age 73, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at his residence in Deer Park, Texas, surrounded by his family. Born in Haleyville, Alabama on March 3, 1951, Rodger was the son of Unzel and Madeline Hamby. Rodger served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He valued hard work, discipline, and fairness, with his family being above all else. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula Doles Hamby, and his two sons: Wyatt Hamby and Jamie Hamby and his wife Amanda, his sister Patricia Haithcock, and his two grandchildren: Madison and Preston, each of whom he cared for deeply and unconditionally. Rodger was known for his no-nonsense but insightful approach to life in general and was a man of mechanical talents, able to build or repair most anything with his hands, and always enjoyed either working on a new project or discovering one, often sharing in these moments with those he loved. Rodger Dale Hamby will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. Funeral Service and celebration life will be held for Rodger at 10:00AM on Friday, March 29,2024 at Grand View Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery,8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.
